Chapel Hill residents brace for soon to be tropical storm amid recovery from Chantal's devastation
Tropical Depression Chantal brought severe flooding and damage to the area nearly three months ago, leaving several communities devastated, including Camelot Village in Chapel Hill.
Many people lost everything and were forced to find temporary housing.

As soon-to-be tropical storm Imelda brews in the Atlantic, worries are rising as the threat of more heavy rain and flooding in the coming days looms.
“I’m terrified of this because I just took all of the money I had saved and put it on a place that we can’t move into until October 25th,” a woman who asked to stay anonymous said. “We have nothing leftover to escape this storm from.”
One woman who owns and rents out a unit told WRAL News she and her husband paid to have it renovated after Chantal.
“The fact that his building had never flooded before, to have this happen, now I am on high alert,” said Jackie Tanner. “I’m seriously like, do I go to Lowe’s and buy sandbags? What are my options?”
Many units have been gutted out, and some have been renovated. Some residents tell WRAL News they are still waiting on funding and permanent housing.
